Sandy Cape Recreation Park
The Sandy Cape Recreation Park is a Shire of Dandaragan managed campground and nature reserve near Jurien Bay.
Access to this beautiful, idyllic campground is via a well sign-posted sealed 2WD road 10 km north of the Jurien Bay townsite.
The Park is popular with campers and day visitors for its protected, white sandy beaches, perfect for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, and sandboarding the dunes.
From 11 December 2024 visitors will be required to have a booking to stay anywhere within the Sandy Cape Recreation Park. Bookings for all Shire of Dandaragan campgrounds can be made via the SpacetoCo online booking platform Shire of Dandaragan | Accommodation, Places to Stay & Campgrounds | SpacetoCo
Sandy Cape has 112 numbered campsites in the main campground. There are sites suitable for a range of camping configurations, ranging from tents through to caravans and large rigs. Gas BBQs, long-drop toilets and limited cold showers are available, however, being self-contained is recommended. There is no power and campers will need to bring their own water. Please note that telecommunications services are not reliable in this area.
Bush camping is permitted with a booking to designated areas to the north and south of the main campground. Only fully self-contained campers (with chemical or composting toilet) travelling with high clearance 4×4 vehicles are permitted in these fragile coastal areas. Please respect the environment and take all waste and rubbish from the natural bush camp site with you.
Campfires are subject to a restricted burning period and must be contained – please check on restrictions prior to travel.
Pets are welcome but need to be always kept on a lead.
